About Jim
Jim Butler has been directly involved in developing and delivering incident command staff training and ICS program implementation advice to public and private sector clients in Alaska and Washington for more than twenty years.
Jim regularly conducts training in all hazard incident command for local governments, serves as a lead instructor for multinational oil company crisis management training programs, and consults regularly with a variety of public and private clients on incident management legal and crisis communications issues.
Jim continues to respond to manmade and natural disaster incidents on government and corporate incident management teams serving in a variety of command staff positions including information officer, liaison officer and legal officer.
Jim has coached and served as lead instructor for less experienced teams on the incident planning and resource management process during real events.. Jim’s response experience includes presidential and state declared disasters, hazardous materials and urban-interface wildland fire incidents involving evacuations and oil pollution responses requiring extended operations in remote locations.
